Description
The Colosseum in Rome, Italy, is the largest ancient amphitheater ever built and is the largest standing amphitheater in the world. Completed in 80AD, it could hold an estimated 50,000 to 80,000 spectators for ancient gladiatorial contests, public spectacles and religious events. The original interior wall is the visible exterior of the current structure. It is listed as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
